Direct mp4 download or play: Piezoelectric Transducer
This is another bit from the same session as “Microphone Test Part 1.” The only things I did to the sound were putting fades at the beginning and end and limiting the peak level to – .4db. This is the largest file I have put up so far, so let me know how difficult it is to play.

That was totally transducing!
it was pure pleasure up until the point where my teeth started hurting.
I find this strangely soothing, probably due to some undiagnosed defect in my brain.
Piezoelectricity is my word of the day. Megasonic cleaning uses the piezoelectric effect to enable removal of submicrometre particles from substrates. A ceramic piezoelectric crystal is excited by high-frequency AC voltage, causing it to vibrate. This vibration generates an acoustic wave that is transmitted through a cleaning fluid, producing controlled cavitation. As the wave passes across the surface of an object, it causes particles to be removed from the materials being cleaned. The technology was originally developed by the U.S. Navy as an element in anti-submarine warfare…No doubt, The Weatherman has the atomic force microscope to check out this stuff @ the nano-level. It was out of complete coincidence that I stumbled onto these things earlier today..
Mr Weatherman, sir. I prescribe a copy of 10-8 Place to all of my patients.. Now, what would happen if you put this Piezo deal in a waterproof bag and dunked the whole thing into some PEPSI brand cola? Would you hear the bubbles?
