I am waiting for the entire collection to be uploaded; I was only able to find “Boopalete my McNothing”, but I seem to remember other ones like “Go pop a balloon”, “floppy floppy floppy”, and several others. I even saw a website that had it listed as an album, Weatherman System Sounds, but I couldn’t actually find a copy to download.
Glad you asked! I’ve wondered what happened to those recordings. Thanks to “The Wayback Machine” I was able to locate my “Weatherman System Sounds” here.
This is part of an older version of the Negativland website from the 1990s, in a posting called “Audio Files and Gadgetry.” Simply scroll down and you should be able to play or download the audio. By the way, the U2/Negativland audio seems to be working, as well.
Wow, that’s amazing! Sometimes, it seems like Wayback doesn’t save audio and such! But I guess it did this time! I got all the files. As far as the U2 EP, if I’m not mistaken, the archives section of the Negativland website has the U2 EP and the Guns EP. Heap, they even have the God Nose album from 2002! Does anyone remember that Bob Dylan spoof/impersonation? Wow! By the way, on the very blog post I am commenting on, the file you have listed as Boopalete My McNothing is technically the one called Boopaleep My McNothing in the old archives. The one titled Boopalete My McNothing in the archives sounds like a slight re-recording. I wonder what inspired you to say those things, and what they mean. By the way, I make sound collages too; my user name should be a link directly to my sound collage website with our group, Mini Nifty.
Thank you for getting back so quick! As far as the spelling Boopaleep and Boopalete, I think it was Mark Hosler not being able to accept or imagine that I would actually spell it “Boopalete.” I recall considering “Boopaleet” as a possible spelling for that nonsense word, but never “Boopaleep!”
I’ve always liked inventing words as far back as I can remember. My first invented word is, of course, “seatbeesate.”
In our collage act Mini Nifty we use a lot of made-up words on the inside. We even like the Negativland language. However, we don’t like the sexual definition that seatbeesate has developed; we like the definition of seatbeesate that refers to a silly childhood game. In fact, our best-known made-up word, seshie, actually got accepted into Urban Dictionary in February of this year. And we in Mini Nifty thought, for the longest time, you were saying, “Boople ate my McNothing”, like there was a McDonald’s box containing nothing, and some creature named Boople ate the box. Boople ate my McNothing. But in Mini Nifty, we have words like seshie, Mini Immi, and libby. We actually have a song we sing to the tune of Theme From A Big 10-8 Place; “One two seshies, three four chirr, five six Mini Nifty, seven eight whatcha say!” There’s another word we say, Positivland (a fictional band in the Mini Nifty universe), but I keep thinking the name Positivland has been used before, and if it has, we will stop using it. So when you think of seatbeesate, do you think of the game, or the sexual definition? I prefer the game.

I’m afraid “seatbeesate” does or can have a sexual meaning or definition as you said. I immediately thought of “sexual dysfunction,” but that’s just me. The childhood game was the idea of stuffing blankets into a cardboard box, getting into the box and trying to slide across a hardwood floor. This act I called a “Slippi Seatbeesate.” That wasn’t really a game at all and wasn’t sexual. It’s simply something I did when I was very young. Is that what you’ve heard?
I like to make up nonsense sentences as well, such as “My peodoppellor plidiption had a periwinkle”, “It was so egzgaggonizing!”, “My autopium is pregnant” and “I’m Power Brakes with the traffic report.”

I have to warn you this post is somewhat broken and may not work or do what you expect.
I’ve heard those street names; South Vodorodor Lane! What happened was, I Googled something Negativland-related, and ended up actually finding the folder containing a big chunk of the audio you made and found. Not sure if HTML works in these comments, but if it does, then this is the link I am talking about. So I got a lot of sound effects, music bits, and other things. Yes, trying to slide across the floor in a box, that’s what I mean by seatbeesate. I’ve even used it as a metaphor; one company is making progress; they are running across the field! The other company hasn’t accomplished anything in years; they must be seetbeesating across the field; it takes a long time to slide across a field in a box, in other words. This is all reminding me of out-thing. I used to refer to pineapple upside down cake as “out-thing” when I was three; “I smell out-thing in the kitchen!” “Let’s go eat some out-thing!” I have a whole page on Urban Dictionary of my more coherent words such as seshie. But yes, to me, seatbeesate is sliding across a surface in a box, or as a metaphor for a slow process. In the novel I am writing, the people in the abbeys on another galaxy have their own little language; a smigbotten is a small amount, “I only want a smigbotten of lipso juice.” They have words for things we don’t have words for. And at least some websites, like Snuggles, figured out what seatbeesate means, but nobody ever figured out amunal condoption.
