This is part of the same recording session as “Harry to the Ferry.” It features my Aunt Louise and her son, my cousin Lindsey. The same microphones and tape recorder were used with my aunt on the Calrad DM-59HL dynamic microphone and my cousin on the Calrad 500C crystal microphone. There is tape hiss present, and the recording was done at 3¾ inches per second. As in the other recording, there is some distortion on the side with the crystal microphone due the high signal level overdriving the mike preamp in the Sony 560D tape deck. One thing I didn’t know until recently is that “Harry to the Ferry” is actually part of “California Drinking Song.”

it is not easy to sing that far out of phase without serious sound isolation, where they in different rooms? or counties maybe?
your cousin must have been completely sauced, or he is doing a good harvey korman. or both.
David- ya gotta get rid of that dumb looking red and green color scheme you have for your mp3 posts. That was for Xmas only, and we need to go back to making them black and white like before.
Thank for your attention to this matter.

“Dumb” Division
Mark, please don’t be so rough on David. You know how sensitive he is. Besides, it’s probably christmas somewhere by now. In addition, red and green is a pretty “dumb” color scheme.
I’m thinking about it. I’ll probably change the color, but I like the long player with time remaining. If red and green are dumb, you had better believe that if I do change the color of the player it will return as red and green at some point.
As for my aunt and my mother, they were in different rooms.
Hail Californyy!
