This is a very recent recording of a baby room monitor (BRM) using my AOR AR-3000 communications receiver and a small 900 megahertz antenna. The baby cries and screams and then someone comes into the room and comforts the baby. As with all of my baby monitor recordings, it was received and recorded from within my home.
The picture shows reception at 49.845 MHz, but this baby monitor was actually transmitting on 902.795 MHz.

Sometimes I use my old baby monitor to receive other baby monitor signals from around the neighborhood. Back in the mid-90’s, some wireless telephones would use the same frequencies as baby monitors. I used to turn on the baby monitor transmitter and join in on stranger’s conversations…which really freaked them out…they thought someone was on their telephone line in their house.
Did that creepy, snoring baby ever crop up again?
It sounded like Eraserhead.
I remember first seeing the previous version of these AOR scanners at Quement Electronics in San Jose back in the mid 80’s. They had a great Ham radio section.
Hey David, you should Skype into OTE sometime. All your old fans would like to hear what you have been up to.
Don Joyce said the same thing on the last show.
Come on……Shoot one point blank in the stamper once more for old times sake!
DAMIT, I skyped my knee!
I do have over 15 minutes of a baby (possibly this baby) just breathing normally. If you’d like I could post that sometime. It does seem like the baby won’t actually snore since Rich asked for that, specifically.
