Now, for your listening pleasure, I have an entire C-60 cassette tape of my family and myself on Easter 1986. I recorded this on my Sony TC-D5M cassette recorder using a Sony ECM-939LT one point stereo electret condenser microphone. This get-together took place at my grandmother’s house in Santa Rosa, California. I know this was source material for “The Willsaphone Stupid Show,” because of a short piece of splicing tape is still attached to the tape box. I’m quite sure it was placed there by Don Joyce when “The Willsaphone Stupid Show” was being worked on years ago to show the tape had been copied. There are lots of toilet flushing noises and other odd sounds as well.

Thoroughly enjoyable Sneakaroo! Mother has a lovely way about her. The conversation punctuated by familiar (and sometimes esoteric) sounds makes for very welcoming company. Very sweet, homely, funny, uplifting, and both banal and inspired! Thank you weatherman (grandma and mother). Ps Id love to meet your mother some day!
I absolutely love these recordings, hilarious. It’s funny when your father says: “Grow up, will ya?” And when your grandmother says “Das ist goot!”
Say, weatherman, can you tell me how you were able to carry around that microphone with very little noise from handling it? You even switched to recording the telephone without any noise. I’ve tried recording ambient sounds while walking around but you always hear the jostling noises of moving the mic.
Thisissash, you should listen to disc 2 of the Willsaphone Stupid show.
The Sony ECM-939LT electret condenser microphone is very sensitive and has very low handling noise, considering it really isn’t a very high end microphone.

Off the wall question. Do you know what battery the ECM 939LT uses? I’ve lost the manual and threw out the battery so it wouldn’t corrode and damage the battery holder.
Many thanks
Tim
The Sony ECM 939LT takes battery EPX765 . If you want scans of the manual, email me at joeybinky@yahoo.com or join my Sony Walkman Facebook page to contact me for scans of the manual for the microphone. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sony-Walkman-Soundabout-Stowaway/229413423739798
